Chicks in a Quilt

Prep Time: 10 min | Cook Time: 20 min | Servings: 1

Look, we love a good labor-intensive appetizer and all, but sometimes relaxation is the best ingredient in a crowd-pleasing poppable. Our take on pigs in a blanket—cozily monikered Chicks in a Quilt—are as chill to make as they are delicious. Just grab our Classic Roasted Chicken Sausage, a package of crescent-roll dough, and a little egg wash. Roll, wrap, brush, repeat. Consider this your kitchen ASMR and a great way to get little hands involved in prepping your holiday spread.

Throw in a little maple-dijon sauce and you’re good to go with an appetizer that works just as well on a breakfast board as it does at a Thanksgiving feast. Even better? They’re freezer-friendly, so you can prep them now and bake them straight from frozen when the holiday chaos hits.

Pro tip: This is a gateway recipe. Once you’ve mastered it (which won’t take long), try making our chewy pretzel bites—which are just as easy and pair perfectly with creamy beer-cheese sauce.

1
Preheat the oven to 375℉. Cut each Classic Roasted Chicken sausage into thirds.

Open up crescent roll dough and cut each triangle into 3 thin triangles, the longest part being about 1-inch wide. Roll each sausage piece in a dough strip and place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
3
Brush each piece with egg wash and bake until golden brown, about 13-15 minutes.
4
Make the sauce: While those chickies cook, mix the Dijon mustard, mayo, and maple syrup together in a bowl.
5
Serve warm with a side of sauce, morning, noon, or night.
