Not since 44 B.C. has the topic of crushing a Caesar been quite so popular—and no, we’re not still clinging to that weird Roman Empire trend from a couple years back (though we do have opinions about aqueducts…). We’re talking, of course, about the Caesar salad’s glow-up.

Over the past year, the humble Caesar wrap has skyrocketed in popularity, graduating from grab-and-go staple to a restaurant darling across the U.S. As a result, twists and mutations on the chicken Caesar have dominated menus and social feeds alike. Wraps have become crunchwraps. Salads have become sandwiches. Sandwiches have become flatbreads. If it can Caesar, somebody’s Caesared it. What a glorious time to be alive!

There’s one (to us) obvious move that hasn’t been fully exploited, though: chicken sausage Caesar. Our chicken sausage is designed to go anywhere roasted chicken goes—which means wherever you’re piling romaine, Parmesan, and dressing, sausage belongs there too. Here are just a few easy Caesar recipes to level up your game. Where you go from here is between you and your salad bowl.

Caesar Flatbread

Pizza often comes with a side salad. Save a plate and just put the salad on the flatbread. It works just as well with your nonna’s pizza dough recipe as it does with premade crust or a store-bought dough ball. Italian Herb Chicken Sausage adds a nice boost of heat to the mix, too.

Caesar Sausage Dog

This might be the most obvious Caesar/sausage combo, but hey, obvious can be delicious. And What is a toasted hoagie if not a reconstructed crouton, anyway? Want to level it up? Reimagine the dressing as a spread. Butter your bun, hit it with garlic powder before toasting, then top your dog with a few pepperoncini for extra bite.

Caesar Wraps

Whoever first shipped salad and a burrito deserves to host a dating show. What began as a simple handheld salad has now seen more twists than the last season of Love Island, and we’re here for it. Us? We’re partial to versions that incorporate a crispy Parmesan crust on the bottom of the wrap—the flavor bomb crunch might be our favorite way to get our frico on, and it plays wonderfully with our Classic Roasted Chicken Sausage.

Caesar Nachos

The words “Caesar” and “nachos” might cause your brain to glitch, but think about it: both rely on crunchy textures, crisp lettuce, and a creamy hit of sauce. Swap tortilla chips for croutons, crumble chicken sausage in place of ground beef, and trade the nacho cheese for creamy dressing and Parmesan. Nachos: now a health food. You’re welcome.

Caesar Breakfast Sandwich

No real brunch spread is complete without a salad that nobody eats. But what if that salad was the base of a delicious breakfast sandwich that also included juicy chicken sausage and eggs? Whether you choose a bagel, croissant, English muffin, or toast as your base, a Caesar breakfast sandwich is a fantastic way to set the bar on your day impossibly high.

Caesar Salad

Look, if it isn’t broke don’t fix it—unless by “fix it” you mean add chicken sausage. And maybe some spicy dressing. In which case, definitely fix it.
